Dear animals - a letter to the voiceless

Dear animals, I am terribly sorry that people continue to steal your lives over and over again.

I am indescribable sorry for you cows who get your babies stolen, only for humans to take your milk.

I am endlessly sorry for you hens who has become egg machines that never see the sunlight, so sorry for you male chickens who are seen as useless and get crumbled, and I am sorry for you females who are going to become like your mothers, egg machines in this never-ending industry.

I am inexpressible sorry for you pigs, who are spending your lives on a little square, who are getting your curls cut of, because the climate in the fabrics make you so stressed that you bite each others curls. I am so, so sorry for you pigs, for the way you are getting over-fed until you cannot stand up any more, for how you are getting pushed the way to the slaughter house. I am so sorry that the only sunlight you ever will see is when you are forced to the truck to the slaughter house.

I am sorry for you fishes who are not seen as able to feel pain, even though you can feel it.

I am sorry for the billions of you who get killed in the industry, only for meat, dairy, egg, leather, wool, fur and so on to be used by humans. I was once a person supporting this. Today’s world is corrupt and most humans have the pictures of animals living a good life before slaughter. Others do not care about you, the human population and the earth.

I am also sorry for you horses, who are slaves under the humans, for you who gets forced to have humans on your back.

I am sorry for you wild animals, who are shoot or taken in captivity. I am sorry for you who have to sit day in and day out in a zoo, an unnatural environment, while humans come and takes pictures at you.

I am sorry for you pets who are taken to exhibitions for the one who looks the best.

I am sorry for you pets who are treated like toys.

While seeing a cat almost get run over by a car, people say how good it was that it was saved. While eating a piece of pork, people comment on how good it is, while talking about the cat and how bad it is with animal abuse.

It is called double standard of morality. Sorry animals. I do what I can. But most people have no idea. They do not dare to open their eyes. They are afraid to realise that something that they have been doing for their whole life, is unethical. They are afraid to see what is behind their piece of beef, fish, cheese and leather. And that fear is what is holding them back.

#3 No, that's how it always been and always will be - as long as we keep using animals. There's no way to eat a pig without killing it first. There's no way to eat a hen's egg without stealing it from her. There's no way to take enough milk from a cow without taking away her calf. As long as we consume animals, these things will always be a part of our world.
